This chef knife is hand forged from laminated steel; a mild steel jacket on either side of  a 52100 high carbon steel core. The core is highly polished, which made it very difficult to photograph - I've included a video to demonstrate how this knife changes in different lights. At just under eight inches, it feels substaintial in the hand but thin behind the edge for cutting performance. The handle is handmade from Brown Oak with a mild steel cap and pin.
 
Note: This blade is made with carbon steel which, unlike stainless steel, is 'reactive'; this means the blade will develop a patina and will change the appearance of the blade surface over time and can rust if not properly cared for.  Handwash only.
